Manimahesh lake is found in Chamba, it lies at an altitude of 4800 meters above sea level. Minjar fair held in the month of August is popular in Chamba and is a famous pilgrim spot because of the presence of numerous temples and places of worship.  Some Lakes in India are located at such high altitudes such as Manimahesh Lake and it is integrally associated with ancient Indian Mythology. The Mythological Association of Manimahesh Lake is that it is considered that Lord Shiva, one of the three Gods in Hindu Trinity recognised as Lord Brahma the Creator god in Hinduism, Lord Vishnu the Preserver god in Hinduism and Lord Shiva the destroyer stays at Manimahesh Kailash. Devotees of Lord Shiva visit Manimahesh Kailash during Shivaratri and other festivals related to Lord Shiva to receive the blessings of their beloved Lord Shiva.
