Parashar Lake is located in Himachal Pradesh, India. The lake is positioned at a high altitude of 2730 meter above sea level. With intense blue waters, the lake is maintained sacred to the great sage Parashar and he is regarded to have meditated here. There is a 3 storied pagoda-like temple devoted to the great sage Parashar.  The temple was established in the 13th century. This mesmerizing lake is surrounded by snow-clad peaks and fascinating beauty of flowing river Beas, the Parashar Lake can be reached through Drang. One interesting fact of this lake is you can spot a floating island inside the lake, which is a common natural phenomenon found all around the world. It is comprised of plant matter in different stages of decomposition and is held aloft by the oxygen in its plants' roots. The floating island on the lake floats in all directions of the lake. The floating land covers seven per cent of the area of lake whereas water is with 93%. Till date, it is said to be unsure and no one was able to measure how deep the lake is.
