4. Lodhi Garden: Previously known as old Lady Willington Park, this place is protected by the Archeological Survey of India. Within Lodhi Garden are located the Bara Gumbad, Shisha Gumbad, the Tomb of Sikandar Lodi and Mohammed Shah’s Tomb. Enclosing square tomb and octagonal tombs, this site is one of the very few which showcases the work during the Lodi/Lodhi dynasty, and hence is in need of protection.

5. Jama Masjid: Built in the later 17^th Century by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor who also built the Taj Mahal. This is one of the greatest Mosques in India. And a brilliant display of Mughal Architecture

6. Gurudwara Bangla Sahib: A Sikh Gurudwara which was initially built as a small shrine. This was the place where the Guru Har Krishan, the eighth Sikh Guru had died and thus, this Gurudwara is revered by Sikhs. This is a structure that showcases the Sikh architecture.

7. Jantar Mantar: It is one of the five Jantar Mantar’s constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh II of Jaipur. Jantar Mantar has construction of large instruments for the purpose of observation and astronomical calculations. Thus, these gigantic instruments are measures for the prediction of the movements of all the planets, the sun and also the moon. Built-in the first half of 18^th century, main purpose of Jantar Mantar was astrology along with astronomy, and it showcases the brilliancy and astronomical acumen of India.

8. Red Fort: Declared as UNESCO World Heritage Site and Built in the early 17^th century, Red Fort is a breathtaking construction displaying the Mughal Architecture. It derives the name from the red sandstone which is used in the construction of this fort. This is the place where every year the Prime Minister of India hoists the National Flag on Independence Day. The evening light and sound show depicting the history of India is a major attraction here. Also, it includes structures like the Mumtaz Mahal, the Rang Mahal, etc.

9. Tughlaqabad Fort: Constructed in the 14^th Century, the Tughlaqabad Fort is an architectural display of the Tughlaq dynasty and displays fortified walls. In this fort dwells the Ghiyath al-Din Tughluq’s Tomb.

10. India Gate: Also known as All India War Memorial, India Gate is a 42 meter high Arch in Delhi which was established as a memorial of the 70,000 Indian Soldiers, who became martyrs during the World War I. The Arch also has Amar Jawan Jyoti i.e. Flame of the Immortal Soldier built beneath it.

11. Chandni Chowk Bazar: Chandni Chowk i.e. the moonlight square was designed by Shah Jahan’s daughter Jahanara Begum. This is one of India’s largest, oldest and busiest market near the Red Fort.
