It is known to be the holiest place in Mathura and it is an important pilgrimage destination for Hindus since it is birthplace Lord Krishna. Before the temple was constructed by the descendant of Lord Krishna, Raja Veer Singh Bundela (as per the locals), it used to be a black stone prison cell of Lord Krishna’s uncle, King Kans. Right at the entrance of the temple, visitors can witness 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita inscribed on the pillars. Banke Bihari Temple: This is one of the famous Krishna temples in Vrindavan where you can see a statue of Lord Krishna where hands of the idol are folded to hold a flute with a folded leg standing pose. It is one of the top seven temples of Lord of Vrindavan, and just nearby there is Shri RadhaVallabh Temple. Here, the main entrance of the temple is adorned with a dark yellow-brown color with intricate traditional design which catches eyes of the visitors. 5. Kesava Deo Temple: Located near the main Krishna Janmabhoomi Complex in Mathura, Kesava Deo Temple is amongst one of the most sacred Hindu religious places. This temple is blessed with the presence of Lord Krishna and is said that the original idol was founded here by Shri Bajranabh, the great grandson of Krishna.
