TOUR OVERVIEW Situated in the prosperous land of Punjab, ‘Amritsar’ literally means as ‘a pool of ambrosia’. The name comes from the name of a lake ‘Amrit Sarovar’ i.e. ‘lake of ambrosia’ which was constructed in the Tung Village by Guru Ram Das. This city has much cultural importance for Sikhs and Hindus. Well known for its ‘Golden temple’, which really has gold plating, and well remembered for its heart-wrenching tragedy of massacre of the commoners by the British General Dyer at ‘Jallianwala Bagh’, Amritsar is the entrance to Punjab. Amritsar is visited by Sikh pilgrims all over the world....
